----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------www.playrohan.comMy guild mate in Cabal told me about Rohan and since CabalSEA CBT ended, we have nothing to do but wait for Open Beta, so I decided to check it out. I tried it on the Japanese version since I can read Japanese and the English version isn't out yet. It's a whooping 1.5gb download. =P
While downloading, I checked out some videos about the game on youtube, etc. Looks pretty good.Now it begins... Plug into Etakon's Gaming Memories again!Skip this part, to the conclusion, if you're too lazy to read.

Mmm.. Okay, pretty standard character creation page just like all the new MMORPGs these days. Nothing special.
*Gets in-game and proceeds to tutorial zone*
*Whacks some mobs, get used to basic controls, runs through the whole tutorial zone*
*Gets out of tutorial zone in 5 mins, teleported to mainland*
Yes! Fresh air finally!

Oh okay.. never mind, it's okay. Weird.. I didn't even realize she KSed my mob! The people here sure are polite... =P

And I get bored real easily, attention-span really low. It's amazing this game kept me playing.

The Conclusion!6 Races. Humans, Elves, Half-elves, Dark elves, Dhans(Bad Humans), Dekans(Dragons but they look more like fishies)
The characters are simply an eye candy to look at, very close to the human physique and perfect, especially females. Except Dekans, eww, blue-skin freaks! =P
The weapons and armour and wicked, plenty and changeable every few levels. New equips every few levels, sounds cool eh.The BGM is awesome, I thought Cabal's BGM was great, but after hearing Rohan's BGM, it just pwns Cabal's BGM hands down. There's guitar rifts, pianos, etc etc. Well.. real music that actually sounds nice! The only bad thing about the BGM is that once the song finishes, there's no BGM at all until you reach/travel to another area. I couldn't find the jukebox to loop the BGM, well if there was even a jukebox to begin with.Environment looks similar to LOTR or ArchLord if you've watched/played them. The trailers are not bad too. Watch them on youtube.Unfortunately, I didn't take any screenshots. But this game is definitely worth looking out for.Ratings

Community: 8 / 10, for the Japanese version. I try not to interact much though, cuz I heard they're pretty nazi about foreigners in their server.. lol.

This is my review of the Closed Beta version of Rohan. This review is based on the fact that my character only got to around level 10 because I did not feel the need to level higher than that, considering the fact that its closed beta, meaning all characters will be erased once closed beta is over.
Okay so now on to the review. At first I logged on, everything seems pretty good at first, and then a screen pops up that says welcome to closed beta and you are here to test for stuff, etc. At first it was horrible because it lasted for a few minutes and I could not get rid of it. But then after I logged in for a few times the message did not stay there as long.
Character Creation
The login page looked pretty good, so I thought this game is going to be pretty good. And then I got to the character creation page, so I decided to click on most of the characters so that I could view the different faces and such. And I was happy about it, because there was a huge variety of hairstyles, but not as many face types. Theres around 10 different hairstyles for each race, so 10 for female and 10 for male but only around 5 different faces per race?
In-game
Okay so I made my character, I chose half-elf archer because I just like archers. And now I am going in-game. The loading was really fast and I was in-game before I knew it. The graphics were not as great as I hoped at low settings but they were pretty good compared to the other free mmorpg's out there. So theres a tutorial mode in the beginning, and I didnt think I was in a tutorial zone so I guess I started killing monsters. The animations were not as great as the videos but the animations were still good. But then I clicked end on the tutorial zone and then all of a sudden warped to the real world. So then when I killed monsters, it actually counted. At first I didnt really know where to go, but then realized its like every other game that comes out. It starts off with a quest person who is waiting right by you. So then I looked around and found the quest lady! She had a Q in yellow over her head. So I clicked her and got my first quest. So the first quest was pretty easy, it was just to kill a few imps.
Skills
After I gained a few levels, I had a enoguh skill points, and decided to add some points to one of my skills.
Blazing seemed like a good idea to add skill points. It said each attack might have a chance to change damage into health for yourself. Thats pretty good. So I added 1 point to it and tried it out. Its really cool! But what thing that is bad is I have no idea how much time is left. But the effect is really cool, because each of your arrows has flames on it.
So the skills are pretty cool so far. Its pretty easy to find quests and so far its not really boring. Leveling speed is not bad yet but I heard it gets really slow around level 20. The game seems pretty promosing and looks like it will end up in a huge success.
Ratings:
Gameplay: (7/10) - My first time playing, and everything went pretty smoothly. There was nothing outrageously great but there was nothing that I thought was bad. The wasd controls worked great and had no problem with it like others. Quests were easy to find and it is very easy to understand what to do in the game.
Graphics: (7/10) - The graphics are problably one of the best compared to the graphics of other mmorpgs. In my opinion, the graphics are better than silkroad, shaiya, maybe about the same as rappelz. However, the armor designs are problably one of the best of any mmorpg that is in the industry today. The amount of variability and differences is just way more than any other game.
Sound (5/10) - The sound is an important factor and it has pretty good sound effects. The backround music sometimes gets annoying but I'm sure everyone else likes it.
Overall (7/10) - I can see this game becoming even more popular than silkroad online. In my opinion problably more people would play rohan than guild wars but more people would rather play wow.
Rohan > Silkroad Online > Rappelz > Shaiya > Twelve Sky
Rohan Closed Beta Review by oulyt

Rohan online is the latest game released by YNK Interactive, who have also released Seal Online. The game has just began its closed beta development stage on March 17th, and will finish on March 26th. So far from playing the game i like what i see. There is some distinct features in this game that alot of people will like. There are also a few that i think the game could of improved on. I'll start with the bad things since there are less. Movement Yes, this game does offer WASD movement, but it does not offer mouse movement. This does not seem so bad at first, but once you start to PvP you will notice it. Running with WASD and then having to press the 1~9 keys to use skills while clicking with the mouse gets hard. A lot of the time i want to double-click the monster then press my 1 key to use a skill. When I do it in this game it just moves the camera.Layout The layout of the game is very crowded. They made all the menues and chats way to big. They have one chat box on the left for player chats and one on the right for system messages. Both of these are HUGE. What makes things worse is under the player chat box is your very HUGE menu. Right next to that is a HUGE expandable quick slot. When you expand it overlaps the system message box on the righ, already overlapping the right message box is another HUGE menu. I don't understand why they need to much menus.
Now lets get into the good parts of the game...
Fishing Yes, this game offers fishing. This games fishing is similar to the fishing in 2moon. The main differences are that you need to use your weapons and armor as bait. You can get a rod when you finish the tutorial or buy one via NPC for 500 of the games gold. When you buy one you need to go to the fishing are via NPC. Once inside, click on the rod as you stand next to the water, double-click an armor or weapon and press start. A green square will move around and a little pointer, the closer the pointer to the green square is the better the fish cought will be. When you catch a fish you are able to open it up and get a special prize.
